Firestop and Waterproofing Solution for Ventilation Duct Leakage

Step 1: Surface Preparation
We began by thoroughly cleaning the gap between the ventilation duct and steel floor deck. This step is critical to ensure proper adhesion and long-term effectiveness of the fire sealant and waterproofing layers.

Next, the gap was packed with mineral wool insulation using a friction fit.

- Acts as a fire resistant sealant and also offers water resistance for added protection.
This ensures compliance with modern passive fire protection requirements while solving the leakage problem.
Step 4: TOA Roofseal Waterproofing Membrane
Finally, we applied TOA Roofseal acrylic copolymer waterproofing membrane over the sealed area.
- Provides a seamless and flexible waterproofing layer.

This step completed the system, making it both leak-proof and fire-safe.
